The Gold Run Trail provides access into Bear Creek from the West Mancos area. Although it is a short stretch of trail, it is incredibily rocky and steep with a elevation change of 1700ft in only 2 miles.
If travelling by bike, the recommended direction of travel is toward Bear Creek. This route can be combined with the Bear Creek Trail, Morrison Trail and the Aspen Loop to create a loop.

The trail passes through aspen groves and large scree fields on its way to Bear Creek.

There is a bridge crossing Bear Creek at the north terminus of Gold Run.
